GW is not completely dead.

but it is crap. it does not have the enjoyment factor it used to have, and for that reason i advise you to keep to whatever you are doing. and wait for GW2 which hopefully wont turn out the way gw did.

After zippin through this thread i noticed all the long term players are the ones bitchin about it being dead. is this sour grapes or just lethargy? i mean ive been playin for 4 yrs and i think its still decent. Clearly its not what it was in 05 but, what game is after 4 years.

I have friends that play WoW that complain of the EXACT same problems.

Cronk

PS just went to Kamadan (0715am) and there were 3 pretty full districts.

Guild Wars is not dead. Yes, many outposts are deserted, but in the big towns you'll always find someone ready to join for a mission or quest.

And with the addition of Zaishen Mission/Bounty, chances are even bigger to find a group. If you're not in a hurry to finish a campaign, you can wait until a specific mission or dungeon is the subject of daily Zaishen challenges, to complete it with an all-human party.

If you're looking to do PvE, then I guess you can find some groups in some occasions. But PvP (excluding RA/AB) is pretty much dead now, so if you're looking to do PvP, then you wont find it here.

GW's not dead. It's not as active as it used to be but you'll still find a lot of guilds with 100 people+full alliances to keep you company. Most of the missions you'll have to solo but thats a lot to do with heroes and the fact that less people play now. Since you're new and coming back Guild Wars you'll still probably find some stuff to entertain you, I usually find something new to keep me busy with the game every few weeks and I got this game three years ago.

The game is still going, but it's a empty corpse rotting away until it collapses in on itself.

All the activity on this forum would fly in the face of most everything everyone has said about the game being dead.

Guild Wars is not as active as it used to be, which is what most of the people in this thread are basing their posts on. If you're new to the game you won't know the difference. There are new people signing up everyday. Find an active guild and you'll have more chance of playing with people, although you can do most of the game by yourself with heroes and henchmen.

If you want a game with activity on the level of WoW, then your only logical choice is to go play WoW. There aren't any other games that get close to that level of activity.

No one's going to give you an unbiased answer here, so I'll go ahead and close this.
